The ship arrived at Victoria around 7:30PM. We did not want to rush out and enjoyed our dinner at the dining room. After dinner, we took the shuttle to downtown Victoria. At 8PM, there was still a lot of sunlight. We were able to walk around the sea side of the boardwalk, night market, Fairmont Empress Hotel, and the Legislative Buildings.

July 11, 2014 - Victoria, BC, Canada
Diamond Princess arrived at Victoria, BC, Canada at 7:30PM. During the day, we enjoyed activities on board including Culinary Demonstration along with a tour of their kitchen and the Back Stage Tour to see the back stage of Princess Theater where all production shows were played. The crew members also explained their costume change processes and stage background changing operations.
We also participated the Scholoarship@Sea hosted by Michael Modzelewski, the Naturalist and author. Michael had 4 presentations on board throughout the week, and we were lucky enough to participated 3 of them. His presentations were some of the best natural related presentations we have ever experienced. We even brought one of his book.
In the afternoon, we watched a 2014 movie "Non-Stop" in the Princess Theater. There were lots of movies shown either in Princess Theater or on Deck14&15. Maggie and Emily also saw several movies on this cruise. The same movie can be seen in each state room's TV. Ying and her husband preferred watching old movies in their state room.

We tried to have an afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel which is the most popular activity in downtown Victoria. Unfortunately, we did not know that we need to make a reservation earlier. Even we did not have the opportunity to try afternoon tea at Fairmont Empress Hotel, the hostess was very nice and gave each one of us a box of Fairmont Empress tea for free.
